Google analytics users have been relying on the service to provide them with indepth analysis of the number of visitors ,visits and how their Google adwords account have been performing over a certain period of time.

Lately in March, Google announced that they are integrating their Audio ads into their Google analytics services. This service enabled advertisers who have Google adwords campaign to find out how their campaign metrics for impressions, ad plays, markets, and CPM correlate with their website traffic data provided by Google Analytics, such as conversions, revenue, and transactions. Customers can see if their audio campaigns resulted in greater amounts of traffic and conversions on a regional basis.

Now Google have added TV campaign reporting to their web Analytics services. Google have announced that this service”"represents a further integration between Google Analytics and AdWords, and another helpful tool for you to measure the online effects of offline marketing.

AdWords TV Ads is an all-digital system that distributes advertisers’ TV ads to participating channels nationwide. You can upload your TV ad—a video file—to your AdWords account and, with a few clicks, start a campaign by choosing from more than 90 nationwide TV stations to air the ad on. You can also specify the time of day and week, audience demographic, and type of program you’d like to target. If you need help creating a TV ad, you can find and connect with production specialists through our Ad Creation Marketplace. It’s a simple and streamlined process for TV advertising.

And the best part: it’s highly trackable. If your AdWords account is linked with your Google Analytics account, you can easily see what happens to your online traffic while a TV spot is running. The current available TV metrics include:

Impressions delivered

Number of ad plays

Cost

CPM

””

Yesterday, I received an email asking me to verify my Google adwords information as my payment failed to process. I found it very strange and I thought that Google database is going banana as I have NO Google adwords account .The email was as follows:

Dear Google Adwords Customer,

We were unable to process your payment.
Your ads will be suspended soon unless we can process your payment.
To prevent your ads from being suspended, please update your payment information.

Please sign in to your account at http://adwords.google.com/select/login, and update your payment information.

——————————————————————————-
——————————————————————————-
Thank you for choosing Google Adwords

So I followed the link to the home page of the so called My Google Adwords. The link directed me to a different URL: http://adwords.google.com.edr3j.cn/select/Login which has nothing to do with Google Adwords URL.

So I started asking around in forums, family and friends and what I found was really worrying hundreds of internet user received these emails also. The facts I discovered was shocking , hackers are going around sending emails to several email addresses hoping that some of them are already Google adwords account holders and trick them using Google name (which Google has no idea about) into giving them their credit card number .

The email they send is really convincing for readers because of http://adwords.google.com/select/login link provided at the end of the email which made me thinking what if I really had a Google adwords account and I didn’t notice the browser URL before going forward.

My personal advice is when you receive an email from anyone (even from Google itself) don’t take it for granted specially when there is money at stake .Please when you follow any link provided in any email received, make sure that the link you followed is exactly the same as the one typed in your browser.

Please forward this post to anyone who you think has a Google adwords account and spread the word around.
