Google has unleashed their first FREE mobile application for iPhone and iPod touch . Google announced today that mobile searching is now easier and faster with the smart features including auto completion , Adding Google search to your address book so that you can search contacts on your iPhone.

Google announced that “U.S. users can get Google Mobile App. right now. Tap the App Store icon on your iPhone, or open iTunes, and search for ‘Google Mobile App. (You need to have the latest iPhone software update to see it.) “.

The release of this mobile application won’t be the last of Google’s contributions to the mobile community as many think that this is a small baby step towards establishing a similar mobile product to Google accounts including Gmail , calendar ,documents ….. and integrating the whole bundle together.

Well I think we will have to wait to see what will happen , waiting is also a virtue

Today, Google introduced their latest data portability product Google Friends Connect. When you first read this news you ask yourself what’s there for Google to offer more than Facebook or Myspace.

The idea behind Google Friends Connect is to allow websites that aren’t social networks to make use of the social capabilities of the social networks .This is done simply by adding some HTML code in the website to add a gadget similar to those used in the social networks.

The visitor of the websites using Google Friends Connect functionality can use his own personal information from predetermined social sites , invite friends , comment ,add and interact with new friends on this website.

The idea behind Google Friends Connect is similar to that of Facebook connect but the difference is that Google friend connect acts as an intermediate between any social network and websites i.e. Google will become the third party site for the social networks so that these networks will know nothing about those websites using Google Friends Connect.

These questions now arise : what will be social networks reaction to Google Friends Connect , Will they approve the exposure of their users’ personal information to other sites that they know nothing about or Google new product will be buried before birth ? How will these networks subscribers react when they know that their personal information is on the hunt by millions of websites? Is Google really sincere in its effort to help website owners promote themselves or they have a hidden Adwords agenda ?!!!

I guess we will have to wait to see !!!!!

Since Google and yahoo have announced the launch of their trial ad partnership which enables Google to display Google ads along with Yahoo search results. We have been waiting for this breakthrough in the marketing and advertising online and wondering how it will affect Google adwords program.

All what was disclosed is that the two internet giants has agreed to conduct a two weeks experiment to test the idea and both parties claimed that it was a success. Just a success nothing and everything else is hush hush.

Until now no comments have been issued from both sides on how this deal will be concluded or is there any deal coming their way or was it a leverage that yahoo used in Microsoft takeover proposal and Google found a golden opportunity to weaken Microsoft proposal .

Now with the two weeks experimental period is coming to an end , Followers of the subject strongly suggest that an agreement is in the horizon as the two sides have their own agenda

Yahoo is relaying heavily on this partnership to boost their revenues and gain the shareholders support after the failure of the Microsoft proposal after months of negotiations.

Also Google is in need to this partnership to deny all voices claiming that Google used this partnership to weaken Microsoft position in the takeover situation and also find more channels as Google will benefit more from this deal than anyone.

I think that the situation is going to a new direction with this partnership. What I really believe is that we will be hearing good news soon !!!!

For years people interested in promoting their products or services have been trying hard to find what exactly the web surfers are looking for, understand what is going on in their minds and how they can benefit from this information in selling their products and services.

Well it was a hard process and costed a lot of money and effort. On the other hand several attempts have been made by search engines to help them understand more about customers’ preferences but all these attempts just wasn’t enough as the information gathered was some how out dated.

Google in attempt to offer better understanding of market trends and preferences ,introduced Zeitgeist . Zeitgeist is an interesting search statistics tool that diggs deep inside google search queries data base and produces a geographical ,monthly report of these findings , trends and querries used within a country domain.

Zeitgeist present the most searched keywords inside Google search engine for a list of countries during a given month. All what you have to do is click on the country name and you will get a list of the top most search keywords for that country in a given month.

webmasters and business owners stil felt that this wasn’t enough to better sell themselves online and requested more detailed and updated results.

Later Google have released the Google Trends. This tools examines the popularity of search terms in relation to each other overtime, and how different cities or regions may care (or not) about the trends.WIth google Trends you can now compare the search trends of more than one keyword and through a graphical representation you can see whether the trend is rising or falling. This new feature entitles you to predict the customer trend for future and upcoming periods towards a certain product or service.

In a greater step to increase the efficiency and accuracy of the results, Google has introduced a new tool called Hot Trends a new feature of Google Trends for exploring websurfer mind and finding out what they are thinking of , what they are looking for and what searches were conducted in a very close time range .”For each Hot Trend, you will see results from Google News, Google Blog Search and web search, which help explain why the search is hot” said Corey Vickrey, Software Engineer at Google offical blog.

The most interesting about Hot Trends is that is updated frequently providing the user with the most updated list of search querries that can ever find else where on the web. Also you can navigate the date so that you can view the historical data of search queries done during any given date.

How can Google hot trends help your business?
Think of the opportunities that you can grasp just by knowing exactly what your customer is looking for right now at this exact moment. This valuable information can change the future of many business just by taking the opportunity that is worth it value in gold

Looking to use Google AdSense in your website but don’t know where to start? Interested to know how it works and how it can generate income for your business? Stop asking and start understanding. Here are the answers to your most common questions

What exactly is Google AdSense?

Google AdSense is the free program that automatically hooks up text and image ads that are related to your web content. Every time someone visits your site and clicks on these ads, you get paid!

It is very simple to use Google AdSense. It will cost you nothing – just allocate a little time for set-up, and leave it to do its magic.

You don’t even need to do any maintenance work. Google AdSense automatically displays the ads that will produce optimum revenue for every page of your site. They make sure that you only get the most relevant and most clicked ads through their ‘cost-per-click’ and ‘cost per thousand impressions’ auction. Google AdSense lets hundreds of related ads race against one another, and the top-paying ads make it to your pages.

Don’t worry about getting sketchy ads, though, because Google AdSense makes sure that the ads that appear on your site are all wholesome and compliant to editorial rules. Don’t want your competitor’s ads to appear? No problem. You can easily block it with Google AdSense’s user-friendly settings. You are supported by professionals – Google AdSense has finely-tuned ‘language filters,’ and in-house linguists who work round-the-clock to manage the ads you serve.

Best of all, Google AdSense posts geographically-relevant ads in many languages. If your site targets the United Kingdom (UK), for example, expect to get ads that are also UK-based. Google AdSense has a wide advertiser base ranging from big international brands to small businesses anywhere in the world. Your site will surely get relevant, high-revenue ads no matter how specific your content is.

How do I start using Google AdSense?

Setting up Google AdSense takes only minutes. Simply fill out an online application and wait for authorization. Once your site is approved, Google AdSense gives you a block of HTML to simply ‘copy and paste’ to your site. That’s it! The freshest and most relevant ads will automatically appear in your pages.

Let your imagination work by tweaking the appearance of ads – there are a lot of colors and templates to choose from, and you will surely find one to complement your site’s look.

How much money will I make if I use Google AdSense?

Expect your Google AdSense revenues to vary from period to period, just as your site traffic varies, too. You can typically earn more from Google AdSense if your website specializes in a competitive niche, and if your content is focused and optimized. Readers will most likely click on the Google AdSense ads if they find your content helpful. Do not fall into the trap of just forcing in incoherent words to your text – the reader will most likely get irritated and switch to another website, and your Google AdSense ads will never be clicked.

Google does not disclose exactly how much you get every time someone clicks an and your site, but as trends go, Google AdSense users have not reported earnings lower than $1 CPM (cost per thousand), and most users reportedly earn about $4 to $5. You can even shoot as high as $15 CPM if you optimize your site.

Goggle AdSense will generate reports that let you see your results by URL, domain, ad type, category and more. These reports help you understand where your Google AdSense earnings come from, helping you make your website better and more profitable.

Few years ago before cell phones started spreading worldwide and their usage started to multiply rapidly, it often happened that we were standing infront one of those shops display window looking at one of those products which we were considering to buy and suddenly remember that we saw the same exact product on the Internet for a lower price somewhere. At this moment we hoped we had an internet access to search for this product, and see what was the price and where it was sold. We were forced to rush back home and start surfing the web from our PC’s or trying to find a place offering internet connection to connect our laptop to the web

Now, with the incremental increase in cellular phones usage worldwide and with the ability to access the Internet from most cellular and wireless devices, we can easily check for any product, service or anything we want just by few clicks from our cellular phones or wireless devices.

This huge advancement in the wireless technology had paved the path for business owners to start offering their products and services over the wireless network. Based on latest statistics* the estimated number of wireless subscribers will exceed 2 billion users world wide by the end of year 2007, so just imagine how many clients are you loosing each day by not publishing your products and services in the wireless world.

Google has pioneered in the field of mobile search engines by being the first search engine available via wireless devices and started its mobile advertising programs mainly Pay Per Click advertising (PPC) as a beta version and plans to extend it world wide shortly. More search engine are building their mobile search engines to be able to compete in this niche and rapidly growing market.

The wireless search engines spiders are not much different from the web spiders. They follow the same guidelines set by the normal search engines in aspects of ranking and relevancy.

In term of search engine optimization, SEO for mobiles is not this different from the traditional on-site web optimization in terms of using title tags, description tags , keywords tags, keywords rich content.

Search engine optimization for Mobiles faces two major problems:

1.Design : Web sites should be designed using XHTML 1.0 or WML 2.0 and to be compatible with W3C accessibility guidelines that allows all wireless devices users to view your web site correctly regardless of the type of the hand set used.

2.Space : Search engine optimization specialist has to use short and precise title, description, keywords, contents, anchors which represents the major challenge for optimization.

One major fact to be considered with designing both wireless and web sites is to provide the visitors with what they are looking for with a well organized and accessible site. This fact is critical to the success of any business whether it is online or wireless.

This similarity encouraged many SEO specialist to add SEO for mobile to their list of services.

How to submit your website to the wireless world:

For now, you have to submit your web site to the wireless world search engines in order to know that your web site exists and get spidered by the wireless world search engines.

The following links show you where you can submit your mobile site for wireless search engines:

Google XHTML Mobile Search

Today Hitwise announced their periodical result on ‘US searches through search engines’ of March 2008. As usual Google is still on the top of the list taking 67.25% of the search engines share with an increase of 0.81% from February 2008 and an increase of 3.12% in comparison with March 2007

In the second place comes Yahoo with the share of 20.29%, which shows a drop of 0.30% from
February 2008 and almost 1% in comparison with March 2007!

In the third place come MSN with the share of 6.55% which shows a drop of 0.30% from February
2008 and 2.36% in comparison with March 2007!

Last but never least Ask.com with share of 4.09% which shows a drop of 0.7% from February 2008 but shows also an increase of 0.61% in comparison with March 2007!

This leave to us 1.72% left which is covered by the remaining search engines!

The figures above clearly shows that Google is still the ‘big mama’ not to mention that the report also showed that the number of traffic generated from search engines for Travel, Entertainment, Business and Finance and Sports categories have doubled and Google contributed to this traffic increase by 17%!

These results shouldn’t be misleading to a decision to concentrate your efforts to only Google as there are still more than 30% of 10 million internet users (Hitwise studied their search habit as a basis of analysis ) are still using other search engines.

Today Google announced a calibration with Virgin Group to establish a new venture called Virgle Inc. An optimistic idea to establish the first permanent human colony on Mars by the year 2016

The news was very interesting kept me wondering since men were from Mars and women are from Venus will the whole colony be of men or may be soon we will hear that Operah will start a colony in Venus just for women .Anyway, I started reading more about Virgle by visiting their official web site Virgle offical site

The Virgle 100 years plan includes: Virgle pioneers selection during the period from 2008-2010 .First journey to Mars 2016 . The foundation of the first human settlement which will be called Virgle city 2050

The new venture will soon offer IPO to fund the establishment of the human colony during the upcoming years and the first human trip to Mars.

What I found interesting is that they were offering everyone an equal opportunity to be a Virgle pioneer and join Virgin founder Richard Branson and Google co-founders Larry Page and Sergey Brin in their first journey to the human colony on Mars

Virgle pioneers will be selected based on several criteria including online questionnaire , video submission , personal accomplishments , expertise in scientific , artistic sociological and/or political fields and personal reviews

Will you be interested to be one of Virgle Pioneers? apply to the journey and complete the questionnaire may be we can all meet in Mars

Building a good Google Adword campaign should never be a hit-or-miss affair. If you plan correctly, you can optimize your Google Adwords so that your target consumer not only notices your ad, but also acts on it to your favor.

There are three essential steps to building a good Google Adword campaign. First you need to be able to choose appropriate keywords to associate your ad with, then write your ad optimally, and finally, select the right landing page for each keyword you select. Let us briefly discuss each step.

Selecting the appropriate keywords

The effectiveness of your keywords determine the success of your Google Adwords – these keywords can either make your ad appear on relevant websites or get misplaced in pages that are unrelated to your business. Check that the keywords you choose are specific to your product or service.

Also take into consideration the scope of your Google Adwords when you are choosing your keywords. Ask yourself of the keywords are pertinent to the languages and regions you chose, for example.

You can always edit your keywords, so don’t fret if you make a mistake. If after a few weeks you find that your Google Adwords are not making any significant impact on your site traffic or sales, modify your keywords until you hit the right balance .

Writing a lean and mean Google Adword

Your headline and ad text should be catchy and direct to the point – remember that you’re only given up to 95 characters for both, so remove all words that do not contribute to making the statement clearer. Avoid long, highfalutin words and go for concise and simpler language. The average internet reader only scans the page instead of actually reading it. If you do not get reader attention within five to ten seconds, there’s very little chance that you will ever get it again.

Selecting the right landing page

Your destination URL, also known as the ‘landing page,’ can determine whether or not the reader will actually take time to explore your product or service some more, or close the page and click on your competitor’s. Make sure that your ad lands on the exact page where the item or service you are advertising is featured, not on a generic pages that still require the reader to search for the item again. Unless you are advertising your company as a whole (instead of just one of your products or lines of service), it’s a bad idea to land your Google Adwords on your main page. The reader may find it exasperating to find what he or she clicked for in the first place, and leave your site altogether.

If your Google Adword is about ‘Hong Kong Travel,’ for example, make sure that it lands on the page that details the itinerary and pricing of traveling to Hong Kong. Do not let it land on your travel site’s homepage, because the reader may get overwhelmed by all the other tour packages you offer.
